Paper Trims from cutters, winders and re-winders are conveyed pneumatically to Pulpers for re-pulping. There are basically two types of conveying systems:
1. Conveying through shredder-cum-conveying type fan
2. Injector type conveying
In the 1st system, the trims from both sides of the M/c are sucked into a shredder type fan through carefully designed chutes and pipes. The trims are cut into pieces in saw toothed knife provided in the fan. The cut trims are then conveyed to the pulper through smooth pipes provided at the outlet of the shredder-cum- conveying fan. The discharge end of the delivery pipe is specially designed with perforations, in order to separate out the conveying air from the trims. The trims fall freely into the pulper. (Alternatively, the trims may be collected through a specially designed cyclone, installed above the pulper).
In the 2nd system, the long trims are sucked into a specially designed injector by means of the suction created in the injector
by the conveying fan placed upstream of the injector. The uncut trims are conveyed to the pulper through smooth pipelines. The conveying air is separated out in a perforated collection chamber or any other suitable collection device. The uncut trims fall freely
into the pulper.
